Two people lost their lives in a jeep accident that occurred in Rautahat’s Gadhimai Municipality Ward No. 6. The victims have been identified as 55-year-old Kul Bahadur Shrestha of Kathmandu and 7-year-old Sweta Pandit of Sarlahi Chakraghatta 3 Sundarpur.
The accident took place while the jeep, a Scorpio with Indian number plate HR 70 D 8382, was returning to Sarlahi roundabout from Dharhari in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality of Rautahat.
According to the District Police Office Rautahat, the jeep skidded off the road and plunged into a canal along the Singarman Dharmapur road section in Dhanahari village.
The accident involved a total of 12 passengers. Three people were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment, while the remaining passengers escaped unharmed.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
