Kailali, Nepal: Two young girls from the same family tragically lost their lives due to snake bites in Kailali district on Saturday.
According to the district police chief, SP Padma Bahadur Bista, the victims were 7-year-old Kajal and 4-year-old Nita, daughters of Esthan Ghartimagar of Gauriganga municipality-7 Mahuliya. The girls were sleeping on the ground floor of their home when they were bitten by a snake. Despite being rushed to Seti Provincial Hospital for treatment, they succumbed to their injuries.
Additionally, the girl’s grandmother, 55-year-old Riju Ghartimagar, was also injured in the incident and is currently receiving medical attention at the same hospital.
In another related incident, three other individuals in Kailali were injured by snake bites on the same day. 13-year-old Upendra KC of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-1, 14-year-old Hem Bohora of Gauriganga municipality-5, and 34-year-old Urmila Kathariya of Joshipur rural municipality-3 were all victims of snakebites.
While KC and Bohora are being treated at Seti Provincial Hospital, Kathariya is receiving care at the Snakebite Treatment Center in Masuriya.
