Two individuals were apprehended in Birendranagar, Surkhet, Nepal, for possession of the illicit drug brown sugar. The arrested suspects are identified as 26-year-old Bhuwan Bhandari of Birendranagar Municipality-3 and 28-year-old Chandra Bahadur Budhathoki of Barahatal Rural Municipality-9.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Bir Bishwakarma, authorities seized a significant quantity of brown sugar, 18 grams, and 540 milligrams, from the suspects also 10,900.
The arrests were made on Sunday evening in Birendranagar-8 Campus Road following a joint operation by the District Police Office and the Drug Control Branch Office, Surkhet. Acting on a tip-off regarding drug trafficking activities in the area, the police team apprehended the suspects.
Both arrested individuals are currently being held at the Surkhet District Police Office for further investigation into the drug trafficking case.
