Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) secured a spot in the 14th Itahari Gold Cup final with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over defending champions Sagarmatha Club. The Wednesday semi-final match ended in a draw after regulation time, leading to a decisive penalty shootout.
TAC emerged victorious in the shootout 2-1. Fatteman Ghale and Ripu Bhulan scored for TAC, while Diwakar Chaudhary was the lone scorer for Sagarmatha Club. TAC goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu, named man of the match, earned a cash prize of 10,000 rupees.
The second semi-final match will take place tonight, featuring last year’s runner-up Church Boys United against host club Rastriya Jagriti Club. The tournament’s exciting final match will be held under lights this Saturday.
