The veteran Pete Carroll has been appointed this Friday new coach of Las Vegas Raiders, a team of which Tom Brady’s minority owner, considered the best player in the history of the NFL, the Professional American Football League.

Brady, winner of seven Super Bowls -seis with the New England Patriots and one with the Bay Buccaneers Tampa-, is an admirer of the work that Carroll has done in the league, so he considered it adequate to rebuild a winning culture in the Raiders who compete with the talented coaches who run in the west of the American conference, such as Andy Reid, of the Kansas City Chiefs; Jim Harbaugh, at the head of the Los Angeles Chargers; and Sean Payton, chief technician of the Denver Broncos.

Pete Carroll, who is 73 years old and will be the oldest ‘coach’ in the history of the League, since he will have 74 at the beginning of the 2025 campaign, spent 14 seasons at the head of the Seattle Seahawks to which he qualified 10 times to the playoffs and two Super Bowls, of which he triumphed in the XLVIII edition to give the team the only Lombardi trophy that looks in its showcases.

At the end of those 14 years he accumulated a record of 137 wins, 89 losses and a draw, the sixth best registration of the NFL between 2010 and 2023. Those 137 victories are the greatest amount for a chief coach in the history of Seattle. He also stood out in university football by guiding the National Championship to the USC Trojans in 2003.

The ‘coach’ left the Seahawks at the end of the 2023 season and this campaign did not lead. His career as a chief coach at the NFL began in the New York Jets in 1994. He continued at New England Patriots between 1997 and 1999. Before arriving in Seattle in 2010, he directed USC, at the University, from 2001 to 2009 .

In the Raiders Carroll replaces Antonio Pierce, who was fired after completing his first campaign as a chief coach with a brand of four wins and 13 losses.

With Pete in front of Las Vegas Raiders, they will seek to end a three -year consecutive drought without classifying the playoffs. One of Carroll’s main objectives will be to help the team to find a ‘quartback’ franchise after in 2024 the Raiders did not find solutions in Aidan O’Connell, Gardner Minshew and Desmond Ridder.
