The Department of Water and Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting scattered to widespread rainfall across Nepal over the next 24 hours. A low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, coupled with monsoon air currents, is expected to bring precipitation to various regions.
The department anticipates partly to mostly cloudy skies throughout the country today, with the potential for light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Some areas within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki may even experience heavy rainfall. Additionally, there’s a risk of thunderstorms in certain parts of the Terai region in Koshi.
The forecast for tonight also includes partly to mostly cloudy conditions, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Given the possibility of heavy rainfall in Koshi, the department has urged residents in affected areas to exercise caution.
