The Weather Forecast Division of Nepal reports that the monsoon system is currently affecting most of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with eastern Lumbini province. Localized winds are influencing the weather in other parts of the country.
As a result, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country sees partly cloudy to clear conditions. Light to moderate rain with lightning is currently occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, with isolated rain in Lumbini.
This afternoon and tonight, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies across Nepal. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with lightning in many areas, with a possibility of heavier downpours in isolated locations across all provinces. The department warns of particularly heavy rain in a few places within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Due to the potential for heavy rainfall, the Weather Forecast Division urges residents in these areas to take necessary precautions to avoid hazards like flash floods, landslides, and erosion.
