Monsoon rains have intensified across Nepal with the monsoon low-pressure line hovering around the regular region. The Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert, predicting widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning throughout the country.
On Monday, the department forecasts partly to mostly cloudy skies nationwide, with light to moderate rainfall expected in all provinces. However, Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are at a heightened risk of experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas.
The inclement weather is expected to persist into Tuesday, with generally cloudy conditions and light to moderate rain predicted for the entire country. Similar to Monday, Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to encounter heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations.
The department has urged residents in the affected regions to take necessary precautions to safeguard life and property during this period of heightened monsoon activity.
