Bara: A tragic incident occurred in the Bara district where three siblings from the same family lost their lives after consuming fish.
The victims have been identified as Lalima (9), Pushpa (7), and Krishnanandan Ram (5), children of Naresh Ram from Jhawanitol, Simraungadh Municipality-7. The incident occurred on Monday, August 12, according to DSP Prakash Sapkota, the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Bara.
The family had consumed fish and rice from their pond on Sunday evening and went to sleep. During the night, the children started experiencing severe symptoms including stomach ache, vomiting, and diarrhea. They were initially taken to Simraungarh Health Clinic but were later transferred to Provincial Hospital Kalaiya due to their deteriorating condition. Sadly, Lalima passed away en route, while Pushpa and Krishnanandan succumbed to their illnesses at the hospital.
The bodies of the three children were handed over to their families after a post-mortem examination at Kalaiya Hospital. Police suspect fish poisoning as the cause of death and are currently investigating the matter further.
