The Friedkin group completed the purchase of Everton this Thursday and became the tenth American owner of a Premier League team.

This group, which already owned Roma, will pay around 400 million pounds (486 million euros) to take over the majority share of the club, which until this Thursday was in the hands of Farhad Moshiri, an Iranian billionaire businessman.

Moshiri, who already owned Arsenal shares in the past, bought 49% of Everton in 2016, in an agreement with Russian businessman Usmanov, and had to expand the purchase to 94% in 2022, after Usmanov had to sell his part for the war against Ukraine. Friedkin reached an agreement with Moshiri on September 23 and was waiting to pass the Premier League ownership and ownership test.

“The Premier League has approved the purchase of 98.8% of Everton by the Friedkin group, once the owners and owners test has been completed. Once approved by the board, it has also been approved by an independent panel,” said the Premier in a statement.

Although we are new to the club, we fully understand the vital role Everton plays in the local culture and the lives of fans both here and around the world. the world. We are fully committed to honoring this legacy and contributing positively to the economy, community and people of this great city.”
