The Wolverines team from Fuenlabrada de Madrid has been crowned champion of the first NFL Flag National Championship in Spain, in the U12 (sub-12) division.
The final phase of the NFL Flag tournament, which was played in Madrid on the same day, featured eight under-12 teams of boys and girls from Madrid (Coslada, Fuenlabrada and Rivas), Catalonia (Badalona, Terrassa and Ullastrell), Valencia (Valencia) and Castilla y León (Ávila).
Ainhoa Serrano, Mara González and Lara Martos attended MARCA this Saturday in the middle of the NFL Flag National Tournament Spain 2024. The winners of the European Under 14 Championship were satisfied with experiencing a special day in Madrid. With a fast-paced format accessible to everyone, flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, with an incredible increase in participation among women and girls from different countries around the world. NFL Flag is the official flag football program of the NFL, working to bring the non-contact version of American football to young athletes around the world.

The final pitted two of the Madrid teams, the Wolverines of Fuenlabrada and the Osos de Rivas, with the former winning 25-0, thus being crowned champions of Spain 2024 of the National NFL Flag Football.

This Championship is the first of its kind in Spain, after having officially launched the NFL Flag Program in the territory today.
By winning the tournament, the Fuenlabrada Wolverines team will have the opportunity to travel to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida, to compete in an NFL Flag International Championship against boys and girls from countries around the world.
The Spanish National NFL Flag Championship was organized in collaboration with the Spanish American Football Federation (FEFA) and the Madrid City Council.
The Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins, which have commercial exploitation rights in Spain as part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program, were also present supporting the National Championship.
Flag football will be officially included in the program of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, led by the efforts of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and supported by the NFL.
