A suspect in the Dholahiti, Lalitpur murder case has surrendered to authorities. Raju Gurung of Tehrathum, who was wanted in connection with the deaths of two individuals during Phagu Purnima celebrations, turned himself in at the Lalitpur District Police Complex on Tuesday. Police have already apprehended four other individuals linked to the incident.

The murders occurred on the night of Phagu Purnima when a clash erupted between two groups at a hotel. Robas Rai (28) of Panchthar and Pujan Rai (30) of Sunsari lost their lives as a result of stab wounds inflicted during a dispute at the D Popina restaurant.

Preliminary investigations point to Bijay Rai, co-owner of D Popina, as the primary suspect. Police allege he was responsible for the fatal stabbings. Raju Gurung, the recently surrendered suspect, is accused of aiding Rai’s escape by providing a motorcycle after the incident. Police have seized the motorcycle as evidence.
