Kathmandu, Nepal – A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Rupak Bantawa Rai, a snooker operator in Shankhamul.
MK Kumar, a resident of Simraungadh Municipality-7 in Bara, was apprehended by the Kathmandu District Police Complex. Kumar is accused of killing Rai due to personal animosity.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning when Rai was found seriously injured at his lunch and snooker house. He was rushed to a civil hospital but was pronounced dead at 2:30 AM.
Police have recovered the weapon used in the attack, a rod, from Kumar’s rented room at Saibaba Park in Shankhamul. Additionally, the deceased’s personal belongings, including his purse, glasses, bag, and clothes, have been recovered.
According to SP Nawaraj Adhikari, the spokesperson for the premises, the investigation into the murder is ongoing.
