Ravi Lamichhane, the chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has appeared in the Kathmandu District Court to receive a date for a hearing in an embezzlement case.
The case, filed by the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative Society, accuses Lamichhane of embezzling Rs 57.896 million from the cooperative while he was involved with the Gorkha Media Network.
According to the cooperative, Lamichhane had directly taken Rs 26.6 million and another Rs 21.396 million was transferred through fake accounts in various individuals’ names.
Lamichhane was previously released on bail of Rs 6 million by the Kathmandu District Court.
