Ramesh Badal has been appointed as Nepal’s new Attorney General. President Ram Chandra Paudel approved the appointment on Wednesday following a recommendation from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Badal, a prominent member of the ruling CPN-UML party, previously held the position of head of the party’s legal department. The Attorney General post became vacant after Dinmani Pokharel resigned following the change in government.
As the chief legal advisor to the government, Badal will play a crucial role in legal matters and representing the state in court.
