In a devastating turn of events, wildfires have consumed 4,500 hectares of forest in 155 locations across eight local levels of Ramechhap district over the past month.
The Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality has been hit particularly hard. These fires have tragically claimed two lives and destroyed 155 communities and Kabuliat forests, causing widespread displacement of wildlife.
Local authorities urgently warn the public against setting any fires and emphasize the importance of forest protection. Those found responsible for endangering these ecosystems will face criminal prosecution.
