A large python was safely rescued from the construction site of the 140-megawatt Tanahun hydropower project in Rishing rural municipality-1, Tanahun district. The reptile was found at the site of the 140-meter high dam being built under the project’s phase 1.
Shyamji Bhandari, head of the hydropower project, informed that the rescue operation was carried out in coordination with the district’s division forest office, following the project’s wildlife conservation management plan. The rescued python will be relocated to a safe habitat by the forest office.
This is the second python rescue incident in the area within a few days. Two days ago, another python was found in a tree in Vyas-2 Amrapuri and was also safely relocated by the forest office.
