North Korea fires 10 ballistic missiles into Sea of Japan

SEOUL: North Korea fired about 10 short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan on Thursday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said, days after Seoul proposed military talks to ease rising tensions along their border.

The missiles were launched from the eastern coastal area of Wonsan at 03:30 GMT (09:15 AM in Nepal), according to the South Korean military. Japan’s Defense Ministry also confirmed a possible ballistic missile launch, saying the projectile fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.
