Steam Deck Nintendo Switch 2 by Ditible

Since it was announced the first time on January 16, Nintendo Switch 2 has been making a lot of talk about itself, even if the most full -bodied details (technical specifications, exit, price at launch and more) we will undoubtedly know them during the Nintendo Direct dedicated, scheduled for April 2, 2025.

Apparently the announcement of the new Nintendo console indirectly caused a sharp drop in sales to a “twin” of Switch (1 or 2, it doesn’t matter): we are talking about Steam Dek, which in the global steam sales charts is suddenly precipitated by the high positions (reported by Steamdeckhq).

Nintendo Switch 2 - Steam Deck

Before the announcement of Nintendo Switch 2, Steam Deck ranked 3rd in the global steam sales charts during the post-epiphany week. But in the week of the preview trailer of the new Nintendo console (13-19 January), the Valve platform saw a strong decline in sales, going down to 47th place (44 positions lost compared to the previous week).

A rather significant drop for a product that usually dominates Steam’s ranking. However, Steam deck has rejected the top 10 again this week, going up to 4th place. Certainly an alarm bell returned to Valve, but which has shown how much Nintendo Switch 2 has catalyzed the attention of a large part of the public now intrigued by the console of the great N.

Although this can only be a simple coincidence, however this scenario could fall as soon as we approach the Nintendo Direct in April. We will see if it actually will be like that.
