Sulichaur, Rolpa: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 2-day-old newborn baby in East Rolpa on Wednesday morning. The infant succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision involving a double cab vehicle.
The incident occurred around 5:00 AM near Sulichaur, when a double cab with the registration number Lu 3 Cha 1656, traveling from Pyuthan to Sulichaur, was involved in an accident on the Bhalubang-Liwang road section. Four people were in the vehicle at the time.
The newborn, the son of Amrit Roka from Lungri Rural Municipality-1 Chiudhar, was critically injured in the accident. Despite being rushed to the local primary health center in Sulichaur for immediate medical attention, the baby tragically passed away at 7:30 AM.
Roka and his wife had recently traveled to Pyuthan Hospital for the delivery of their child and were returning home when the accident occurred.
The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Kul Bahadur Bista, also from Lungri Rural Municipality-1 Chiudhar, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment. His condition is described as moderate.
Local police authorities, including Inspector Arun Tamang from the Sulichaur police office, responded to the scene to assist the injured and investigate the accident.
