The Nepal Panchanga Adjudicatory Development Committee has officially announced the dates(Sahit) for the upcoming Dashain festival in 2081 BS.
According to the committee’s decision, the auspicious time for Dashain activities begins Saturday.
The Navaratri period is set to start on Thursday, October 3, at 9:16 AM. The Jamara, a sacred rice sprout, can be lowered and offered during this time.
The Phulpati and Tuljabhawani Yatras, significant processions during Dashain, will commence on Thursday, October 10, at 7:11 AM.
This year, a unique occurrence takes place as Maha Ashtami and Mahanavami, two important days of the festival, fall on the same day: Friday, October 11.
The committee has informed us that the auspicious time for Tika, the final day of Dashain, is on Saturday, October 12, at 11:26 AM.
It’s important to note that the committee has clarified that offering prasad to the goddess is not mandatory during this year’s Dashain.
