Nepal’s ‘A Distraction’ reaches the quarterfinals of the American Film Festival

The Nepali short film, titled ‘A Distraction,’ has successfully advanced to the quarterfinals of the American Student World Impact Film Festival. With a runtime of 9 minutes and 45 seconds, the film is skillfully directed by Pramod Trimul, while the compelling narrative is penned by Omraj Raut.

Raut, the esteemed writer, shares his exhilaration at the film’s achievement in securing a spot in the quarterfinals. This recognition follows the film’s earlier selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival under the title ‘La Khauria,’ where it not only gained prominence but also clinched four awards at the Cannes Critics’ Week. Juan Camilo Moreno directed the film during its Cannes journey, with sound design contributed by Bobby Lahot.
