Sydney, Australia – A Nepali girl has been found dead in a park in central Sydney. The incident occurred Monday night, according to local authorities.
The Nepali Embassy in Australia has confirmed the tragic news. Acting Ambassador Kulraj Magar stated that he had received information about the death of a Nepali citizen.
Anil Pokharel, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia, has also shared the news. He confirmed that a 27-year-old Nepali woman from Jhapa had passed away. The NRNA is providing support to her family in Nepal, who have requested assistance in investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The deceased’s identity and other details have not been publicly released due to privacy concerns. It is understood that she arrived in Australia approximately four months ago after her marriage.
Local police are currently investigating the cause of death. Sanjib Sharma, the unpaid consul of New South Wales, has indicated that the reason for the incident remains unclear as the investigation is ongoing. He expressed his condolences to the family and assured them of the support available from the embassies, consulates, and other organizations.
This tragic event follows the recent death of another Nepali youth in Sydney. Just a week ago, a young Nepali man was found deceased in the city. With the help of the NRNA and other organizations, his body was repatriated to Nepal for final rites.
