Dailekh: A 13-year-old boy from Dailekh district, Nepal, tragically lost his life in a firecracker accident during Diwali celebrations in Surat, India.

The victim, Bhupendra Kathayat of Sai village, Aathabis Municipality-3, was struck by shrapnel from a rocket bomb that he was igniting. The shrapnel fatally injured his chest, piercing his heart.

The District Police Office Dailekh confirmed the tragic incident. Sunil Dahal, the Chief of the District Police Office, stated that they had been in contact with the family and had received information about Bhupendra’s death during the Diwali festivities.

The young boy and his family were residing in Surat district, Gujarat province, India, where they were employed.
