Kathmandu: The Nepal University Bill 2081 has been approved by the House of Representatives. Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai proposed the bill’s passage during the House meeting on Monday, and it was subsequently approved by Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
Before the vote, the House discussed the Nepal University Bill, which originated in the National Assembly, along with the report of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee.
In response to questions raised during the debate, Minister Bhattarai emphasized the need to establish a university outside of Kathmandu to provide high-quality education while preserving fundamental subjects. She also announced plans to establish an exceptional experimental center for the development of skilled manpower.
The government introduced the bill to make higher education studies and research more qualitative, useful, innovative, and responsive to current needs.
