Nepal showcased their continued dominance in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup Cricket with a commanding 8-wicket win over Bhutan. In a match held at Malaysia’s Biomass Oval, Nepal effortlessly chased down Bhutan’s target of 66 runs in a mere 11 overs and 5 balls, losing only two wickets.
Sita Ranamagar starred for Nepal, scoring a decisive 32 runs, while Rubina Chhetri added a valuable 17 runs. Earlier, Kabita Kunwar (5 runs) and Indu Berma (1 run) fell after brief contributions. Bhutan’s Anju Gurung and Anjuli Ghale claimed a wicket apiece but couldn’t halt Nepal’s march to victory.
In the first innings, Bhutan opted to bat after losing the toss and managed 65 runs in 20 overs, losing four wickets. Nawang Choden led the scoring with 25 runs, supported by captain Dichen Wangmo (17) and Chingi Zangmo (16). Nepal’s bowling attack excelled, with Kabita Kunwar, Sita Ranamagar, Kabita Joshi, and captain Indu Berma all taking a wicket.
Nepal continues their impressive tournament run and now face the Maldives on Tuesday, looking to clinch another victory and solidify their position in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup.
