Nepal is grappling with a devastating monsoon season that has claimed the lives of at least 143 people and left 47 missing since June 10. Floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains have wreaked havoc across the country, displacing thousands of families and causing widespread damage to infrastructure.
The Koshi and Gandaki provinces have been particularly hard hit, accounting for the majority of casualties. Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to evacuate stranded residents and recover bodies from the rubble.
In addition to the human toll, the disaster has caused significant property damage, with hundreds of homes destroyed or submerged. Schools, bridges, and government offices have also been affected, disrupting essential services.
The government has appealed for urgent assistance to help those affected by the disaster, as the monsoon season is far from over.
