The Mithila Madhyamik Parikrama, a historical 15-day pilgrimage steeped in tradition, has begun in Dhanusha, Nepal. Thousands of devoted pilgrims from Nepal and India will embark on a 133-kilometer journey on foot, visiting 15 sacred locations along the way.
The pilgrimage commenced at Kouchari with a gathering at Hanumangadhi temple. Participants will continue to Kalyaneshwar, India, and then rest at Girija place in Fulhar, India, before reaching Matihani in Mahottari, Nepal. The pilgrimage will conclude on March 23rd in Bisaul, followed by a celebratory tour of Janakpur city. This spiritual tradition dates back to the 18th century and is believed to cleanse participants of sins and grant their wishes.
