West Ham striker Michail Antonio is not in danger after the car accident he suffered this Saturday in Essex. That’s the good news, West Ham have confirmed. The bad news, however, is that he suffered a fracture in “a lower extremity” and had to undergo surgery.
This is what West Ham reported:
“West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio has undergone surgery for a lower limb fracture following the road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon.
Michail will continue to be monitored in the hospital for the next few days.
Everyone at the club wishes Michail a speedy recovery and would like to express our sincere thanks to the wider football family for the great support shown since yesterday’s news, as well as extending a sincere thank you to the emergency services and first responders who Michail was cared for immediately after the incident, and the medical team who continue to assist him in his recovery.
“The club will provide further updates when appropriate.”
