A major fire broke out at Mankamana Wool Carding Pvt Ltd in Nayapati, Gokarneshwor Municipality-2, on August 9. Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at around 4:30 PM.
According to Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson SP Nawaraj Adhikari, a combined force of 50 police personnel, 25 Nepali Army soldiers, and residents is battling the flames. Three fire engines from Kathmandu Metropolitan City and one from Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality have been deployed to the scene.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities are currently focused on containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
