Singapore: A significant food poisoning outbreak has affected dozens of employees at TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, in Singapore. Approximately 60 staff members experienced symptoms of gastroenteritis, with 57 requiring hospitalization.

Emergency services responded to the incident with 17 ambulances. Both Singaporean health authorities and ByteDance are investigating the cause of the mass illness.

While ByteDance does not prepare food on-site, it is suspected that contaminated food from a third-party caterer may be the source of the outbreak.

TikTok, a Chinese-owned company with over a billion global users, has faced bans in countries like Nepal and India. The Singapore-based headquarters has now become the center of another controversy due to this public health incident.
