A few days ago Marvel Snap was no longer available in the USA following the ban on the Chinese social media platform TikTok imposed by a law issued by the US government (we also talked about it in our dedicated news).
Apparently the unexpected event caused by this ban seems to have been resolved, for now. In fact, the competitive GCC developed by Second Dinner is back online again in the United States, and not only that: to avoid another similar problem from appearing in the future, the developers are looking for a new publisher to replace the current Nuverse.
“Marvel Snap is back online in the United States,” Second Dinner wrote in a post published on X. “But to make sure this never happens again, we are working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher. This is the beginning of a new era for Marvel Snap. We most likely know this will leave more questions than answers. We appreciate your patience, but in the meantime, enjoy Marvel Snap. We will continue to update you as soon as possible.”
Recall that TikTok was banned in the United States on January 19 over “national security concerns”, before returning online after about 14 hours. ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, also owns Nuverse, which is why the Second Dinner TCG went offline.
