Mahottari: A 45-year-old man, Ram Babu Mahato, was injured in an armed attack in Vagaha Municipality-4, Ramnagarbirta, Mahottari. The incident occurred early Friday morning around 5 AM.
According to local police, three armed individuals attacked Mahato, a local tea shop owner, with a sword as he was opening his shop. The attack resulted in injuries to two parts of his body.
Mahottari Police Spokesperson DSP Santulal Jayaswar confirmed the incident and stated that Mahato is currently undergoing treatment at Janakpur Provincial Hospital.
Police have recovered a motorcycle and a sword shell from the crime scene. Eyewitnesses claim that the attackers, who arrived on a motorcycle, fired a shot, though the bullet did not hit the victim.
Local authorities have identified three suspects from the same village and are actively pursuing their arrest. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.
