Kathmandu: A 20-year-old man was found dead in suspicious circumstances at his rented room in Kalopul on Sunday morning.
The deceased, identified as Prem Mahat Darji, hailed from Likhu Rural Municipality in Okhaldhunga district. Police have detained two individuals, including the victim’s wife, Usha Sarki, on suspicion of murder.
Initial investigations suggest that Darji was killed with a sharp weapon before his body was staged to appear as a suicide by hanging. Police spokesperson SP Nawaraj Adhikari stated that the body has been sent to the University Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The suspects, Usha Sarki and Madan Ramtel, both residents of Okhaldhunga, have been taken into custody for further questioning. The couple had been sharing the rented room with the victim for the past month.
Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the murder.
