Lumbini: The Lumbini Lions have added a significant boost to their squad for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with the signing of English wicketkeeper-batsman Thomas James (Tom) Moores. The team made the announcement on Wednesday via social media.

Moores, a 28-year-old experienced cricketer, becomes the first foreign player to join the Lumbini Lions for the inaugural edition of the NPL, which is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21. The team’s marquee player is Nepal national team captain Rohit Kumar Poudel.

Moores has represented England’s Under-19 team, participating in the ICC U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2016. He has also gained valuable experience playing in various T20 franchise leagues around the globe, accumulating a total of 147 T20 matches.

The Lumbini Lions expressed their enthusiasm about signing Moores as their first foreign player, recognizing the significant contribution he will bring to the team’s campaign in the NPL. With eight franchise teams competing in the tournament, the Lumbini Lions are well-positioned to make a strong impact.
