Leicester are looking for a coach against the clock after dismissing Steve Cooper. The news, however, is different: the ‘Foxes’, sixteenth, one point above relegation, could have a Spanish coach: Carlos Corberán (Valencia, 4-7-1983).
The current coach of West Bromwich Albion is, to tell the truth, an old desire of Leicester. In the summer he was already in the ‘pools’ to replace Enzo Maresca, who signed for Chelsea after achieving promotion to the Premier League.
The ‘Foxes’, once again, have returned to the fray. Leicester have gone to West Bromwich Albion to ask about Corberán’s exit clause (2.5 million euros) and they are willing to pay it.
Right now, there are two candidates to replace Steve Cooper: Graham Potter (without a team) and Carlos Corberán. The career of the Spaniard, who already rose with Leeds as Bielsa’s assistant, means that he is seen very favorably at the King Power Stadium.
Corberán currently has WBA sixth, in promotion positions for promotion to the Premier League. Nothing new for him. The Spaniard already played in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League with Huddersfield Town in 2021-22 and with West Brom itself last year.
