Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, favorites to win the NFL MVP

Lamar Jackson, Quarterback of the Ravens, and Josh Allen, of the Bills, stand out among the five finalists announced this Thursday by the NFL to candidates for the most valuable player award of the season (MVP for its acronym in English), ready in the That Patrick Mahomes does not appear, from Chiefs.

Mahomes was left out despite taking Kansas City Chiefs champions to a historic season of 15 wins for only two losses and having his team in the final of the American Conference, which will play this Sunday before Buffalo Bills.

In addition to Jackson, who goes for his third MVP, and Allen, the other three finalists for this designation are two other field seafood, Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals, and Jared Goff, Detroit Lions; and Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles corridor.

Favorites for the MVP

Barkley seeks to break an 11 -year consecutive streak in which this award is won by a quartback: the most recent occasion that a player of another position was MVP happened in the 2012 campaign, when the award went to Allan Peterson, Minnesota Vikings Corridor.

The MVP of the 2024 season will be announced on February 6 within the NFL Honors, an annual ceremony in which the League decorates the best players and coaches of the year.

Each category consists of five finalists.

Among the candidates for defensive player of the year appear Zack Baun, from Eagles; Myles Garrett, by Cleveland Browns; Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals; Patrick Sortin II, Denver Broncos and TJ Watt, Pittsburgh Steelers.

The candidates for offensive player are Saquon Barkley, from Eagles; Joe Burrow and Ja’mar Chase, from Bengals; Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, Ravens.

The list for offensive rookie is composed by Brock Bowers, by Las Vegas Raiders; Jayden Daniels, from Washington Commanders; Malik Nabers, New York Giants; Bo Nix, Broncos; and Brian Thomas Jr., from the Jaguars.

The candidates for the defensive rookie award are Cooper Dejean, Eagles; Jared See and Braden Fiske, from Los Angeles Rams; Quinyon Mitchell, Eagles; and Chop Robinson, Miami Dolphins.

In the section to chief coach are Dan Campbell, of Detroit Lions; Kevin O’Connell, by Minnesota Vikings; Sean Payton, Broncos; Dan Quinn, Commanders; and Andy Reid, of the Kansas City Chiefs monarchs.
