The 25-year-old French forward, Kylian Mbappe was welcomed by a roaring crowd of around 80,000 fans at Santiago Bernabeu after signing a 5-year contract with the club.
Following the signing ceremony, Mbappe took to the field to greet the ecstatic supporters. Dressed in the number 9 jersey, he addressed the crowd in Spanish, saying, “This is an incredible day for me. Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve dreamt of playing for Real Madrid, and today that dream becomes reality. This is a huge moment for me.”
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hailed the signing of Mbappe as a historic moment for the club. “Today, we welcome an extraordinary player who is fulfilling his childhood dream,” Perez stated.
“You are finally here, exactly where you wanted to be. Thank you for all your efforts to make wearing this white jersey a reality,” he added.
Real Madrid had been keen to sign Mbappe earlier, but it was only confirmed last June when the French star decided against signing a new contract with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The transfer was finally completed on Tuesday.
