Travis Kelce broke the record for most touchdown receptions in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs this Wednesday, in the current champions’ victory (10-29) over the Pittsburgh Steelers, in the game of week 17, the penultimate of the 2024 season of the NFL, the Professional American Football League.

And all this on a historic night for Netflix because the American streaming platform broadcast two NFL games live for the first time – the Texans and Ravens would later play in Houston.

The agreement reaches 150 million dollars for just two duels but is a boost for Netflix in its commitment to live sports after its controversial premiere in Mike Tyson against Jake Paul.

Kelce reached 77 touchdown receptions and surpassed the 76 of the legend Tony González; and in this game he also surpassed 1,000 receptions in his 12-year career, something that only 15 players in the NFL have achieved.

The Chiefs reached 15 wins and one loss and secured first place in the American Conference (AFC), which will allow them to rest in the first week of the playoffs.

For the Steelers, with a balance of 10-6, the defeat puts their lead in the AFC North at risk, a division in which the Ravens, who are 10-5, will surpass them if they later beat the Texans.

Kansas City dominated the first half with passes to the end zone from Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson.

Pittsburgh responded with a score from its quarterback, Russell Wilson, who sent the game to halftime with a score of 7-13.

In the third quarter the score was 10-16 after an exchange of field goals.

Kansas City extended its lead to 10-22 in the final period with a run by Kareem Hunt and sealed the victory (10-29) with Kelce’s reception in the end zone that broke Tony González’s record.
