Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant has suffered a major injury setback after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and is expected to miss at least four weeks, according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
The injury comes just as Morant was beginning his first season in Portland following his departure from the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 27 year old guard sustained the injury during Thursday’s 124-103 defeat against Memphis, his former team. His absence could disrupt Portland’s early season momentum and force the coaching staff to reconsider its backcourt rotation.
