ISRO’s Navigation Mission: India has moved a step closer to boosting its homegrown satellite navigation capabilities, with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launching the NVS-03 navigation satellite aboard its GSLV-F18 rocket on October 30, 2026. The satellite is part of India’s second-generation navigation satellite series and is intended to enhance the reliability of the Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC). It is believed the mission would boost India’s independent navigation infrastructure and cut reliance on foreign systems like the U.S.-operated GPS.
