Indian Tourist Drowns in Palpa River

Palpa, Nepal: A tragic incident occurred in Palpa district on Monday, September 23, when an Indian tourist drowned while swimming in the Tinau River.

The victim, 26-year-old Bishal Kumar Jawat from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, was visiting Nepal. According to local authorities, he entered the river at the Powerhouse area in Tinau Rural Municipality-3 around 6:50 PM.

Despite a search operation launched by the District Police Office Palpa, Bishal’s body was discovered in the Rupandehi area, near the Butwal police office. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of swimming in unfamiliar waters, especially during the monsoon season.
