Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif is set to return to the ring on December 15, nearly two years after winning gold at the Paris 2024 Games. The 27-year-old Algerian will face undefeated Dutch boxer Clarida Sarabia in a six-round professional contest in Paris, marking her first competitive appearance since her Olympic triumph. The fight was announced at a press conference in the French capital on Friday, November 6.
Khelif’s return comes after a lengthy absence that also saw her planned professional bout against Germany’s Julia Igel in April postponed because of an injury sustained during training. The December contest will now give the Olympic champion an opportunity to resume her boxing career in the city where she reached the top of the sport.
