Ilam, Nepal – Falgunanda Sukilumba Airport in Ilam will reopen for air traffic on Thursday, September 5. The airport had been closed due to inclement weather conditions during the monsoon season.
Dinesh Sundas, the station in charge of the airport, confirmed that flights will resume with the onset of favorable weather. Nepal Airlines had suspended operations from the airport on May 17.
The airport plans to operate flights every Thursday, provided the weather remains suitable. The airline had previously operated two flights per week, but the schedule has been reduced to one flight due to passenger demand.
Falgunanda Sukilumba Airport is a convenient transportation hub for travelers from Ilam, Panchthar, and other regions in eastern Nepal. It offers direct flights to and from Kathmandu.
