Sarlahi – A tragic incident occurred in Haripurwa, Sarlahi district, where a young man shot and killed his wife. In addition, the man’s father was injured in the shooting.
The incident took place on around 2:00 PM when Dhirendra Yadav, a resident of Haripurwa Municipality 5, arrived at his home on a motorcycle with a friend. Dhirendra then proceeded to shoot his 23-year-old wife, Chitra Lekha Yadav, multiple times in the head. Chitra Lekha died instantly at the scene.
The shooting also resulted in injuries to Dhirendra’s father, 54-year-old Ramdinesh Rai, who is currently receiving medical treatment at Malangwa Provincial Hospital.
Following the shooting, Dhirendra and his friend fled the scene on a motorcycle. The local police authorities, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, have launched a manhunt for the suspects. The police have recovered two bullet casings and one misfired bullet from the crime scene but have yet to find the weapon used in the shooting.
According to police investigations, Dhirendra had recently returned from abroad and had been involved in a domestic dispute with his wife. The shooting is believed to be a result of this ongoing conflict. The police team is currently at the scene of the crime, and the body of Chitra Lekha is being prepared to be transported to Malangwa Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A large crowd of villagers has gathered at the scene.
