Bhaktapur, Nepal – A fire caused significant damage to a house and shed in Narayantar, Changunarayan Municipality Ward No. 4, Bhaktapur, early this morning. According to local authorities, the fire was started by charcoal that was being used to repel mosquitoes.
The blaze broke out around 2:40 AM and quickly spread from the house to the adjacent shed. Firefighters, police, and residents worked together to contain the fire, which was fully extinguished by 4 AM.
The fire resulted in the loss of a valuable jersey cow and a goat, totaling approximately 60,000 Nepali rupees. The owner of the property has not been publicly identified due to privacy concerns.
District Police Complex Bhaktapur’s Information Officer, DSP Mohanmani Adhikari, noted that the extent of the damage was limited due to the small size and construction materials of the buildings.
