Bhairahawa, Nepal – Honda Motorcycles has officially inaugurated a new assembly plant in Bhairahawa. Minoru Kato, vice president of Honda Motorcycle’s main business unit, led the opening ceremony on Wednesday.
The plant, which covers an expansive 200,000 square feet, represents an investment of 1.5 billion Nepalese rupees. It can produce 100,000 motorcycles and scooters annually.
Honda has enjoyed a strong presence in Nepal for the past 55 years, consistently ranking as one of the country’s top-selling two-wheeler brands. The new assembly plant will further solidify Honda’s position by facilitating increased sales and distribution, ensuring spare parts availability, and providing enhanced servicing through the subsidiary company Himal Moto Pvt.
The plant’s inauguration was attended by notable figures including federal MP Chabilal Bishwakarma, Lumbini State Home Minister Santosh Pandey, state assembly member Bhagwati Chaudhary, along with representatives from Jyoti Group and Syakar Trading Company.
