Hetauda Businesses Tax Hike

Business establishments in the Hetauda sub-metropolis have been closed down in protest against a recent tax hike imposed by the local government. Led by the Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the business community has staged a sit-in at the sub-metropolitan office.

In a dramatic escalation of their protest, the businessmen have symbolically handed over the keys to their shops to the sub-metropolis authorities. Despite facing police resistance, the protesters managed to enter the sub-metropolitan office premises and continue their demonstration.

The business community has accused the local government of disregarding their concerns and has demanded a rollback of the tax increase. The mayor and deputy mayor have engaged with the protesters but have so far failed to address their demands.

The protest has brought business activities in Hetauda to a standstill, impacting the local economy and disrupting daily life for residents.
