A fatal collision involving a school bus in Gaindakot Municipality-5 of Nawalparasi East has resulted in the death of a 68-year-old woman and critical injuries to another. Parbati Paudel, from Parbat Phalewas Municipality-4, was riding a scooter (Ba 93 Pa 9209) when it was struck by a Bal Bikas English Boarding School bus (Na 4 Kha 1041).
Paudel tragically passed away, and her body has been taken to Bharatpur Hospital for post-mortem. Ashika Sapkota (20), a resident of Gandakot 5, sustained severe injuries in the accident and is currently receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
Authorities have impounded the bus and detained the driver for further investigation.
