Gopal Kafle, a former Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, passed away on Monday, August 5 morning at HAMS Hospital. He had been battling an illness for an extended period. His final rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat.
Kafle served as Deputy Governor of the central bank for five years before stepping down in 2015. He held the position during Yuvaraj Khatiwada’s tenure as Governor. Kafle was also considered a strong candidate for the Governor’s position.
